Institutional Research and Planning

University Planning Information Center (UPIC)

The Office of Institutional Research and Planning is striving to provide The University of West Florida the opportunity to excel in electronic information decision support and reporting. The movement toward automating information has led this office to focus its initiatives on developing the University Planning Information Center (UPIC) including the Institutional Research and UWF Fact Book web sites.

By initiating and pursuing the University Planning Information Center, faculty, staff, and the university as a whole can grow to achieve success in Strategic Planning and data retrieval initiatives and have access to timely information such as University Assessments, Profiles and through the Fact Book, data related to specified reporting periods and more.

University, Division, and Department Strategic Plans and Profile information are made available through the use of the UPIC site. Each unit has the ability to maintain and display their information through this site by requesting a UPIC Account.

UWF has a strong presence in downtown Pensacola. In spring 2001 the Florida Legislature authorized the transfer of 22 historic properties, located in the center of downtown, from the Department of State to the university. Now, our historic downtown campus has opened its first educational facilities in the J. Earle Bowden Building in Historic Pensacola Village, as well as the Public History and Heritage Center.
