Strategic Planning

Strategic planning is a management tool used to help an organization do a better job - to focus its energy, to ensure that members of the organization are working toward the same goals, and to assess and adjust the organization's direction in response to a changing environment. In short, strategic planning is a disciplined effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, what it does, why it does it and how it does it, with a focus on the future.

University, Division, and Department Strategic Plan information is available through the UPIC Strategic Planning site. Each entity has the ability to maintain its Strategic Planning information through this site by requesting a UPIC Account.

NOTE:Some Strategic Plans are quite large and require a longer period to load into your browser. Please be patient and the plan will be displayed accordingly. Visit the FAQ page for additional information.

UWF has a strong presence in downtown Pensacola. In spring 2001 the Florida Legislature authorized the transfer of 22 historic properties, located in the center of downtown, from the Department of State to the university. Now, our historic downtown campus has opened its first educational facilities in the J. Earle Bowden Building in Historic Pensacola Village, as well as the Public History and Heritage Center.
